Juan Lecanda

Juan Lecanda means acting range. His work as a professional actor has led him to forge a chameleon-style career, where he has starred in seven films and major television appereances. He recently nailed the most important role of his life: the actor that gave life to the character of Quico in HBO Max's biographical series Chespirito: Sin Querer Queriendo, which became the most-watched Spanish-language series in the history of the renowned streaming platform. The recognition Lecanda has gained throughout his career has a solid foundation that began with his early immersion in the world of theater and later with his participation in television commercials. When it came to deciding which university program to pursue, it was no surprise he went after a Bachelor's degree in Communication, which he attended at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. His Comedy and flair for impressions led him to make his television debut in 2008 on Platanito Show, one of Mexico's most renowned comedians at the time. He also worked in Miami, Florida, signing an exclusive contract for a year on American Network Univision for the Show Despierta America. He then returned to his country to work with Mexico's top comedy actor Eugenio Derbez, on the show Familia P Luche. During that time, he also shared credits with Andres Bustamante and Brozo on the show Primero Mundial. In 2011 he moved to Los Angeles, where he studied at the New York Film Academy to consolidate his acting training with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting for Film. He was part of the select NYFA West Ensamble Group, directed by Oscar Nominated actress Brenda Vaccaro, a project for which more than a hundred students auditioned for. In 2015, he traveled to Barcelona, Spain, to star in the famous Catalan football parody show Crackovia, which was broadcast to the entire American continent. His other notable projects include Hollywood Heat, Como Cortar A Tu Patan, Silvia Pinal: Frente A Ti, and comedy shows such as El Privilegio De Mandar, in which he played former President of the United States Joe Biden, among others. He has starred in five Mexican films, two Hollywood films, several TV shows on Televisa, Comedy Central, and TV Azteca. Since 2023, he stars in the satirical news show Cotorreando La Noticia, at TV Azteca.
