Biography

Edite Estrela was born on October 28, 1949 in Belver, Portugal. She is married to Rui Vieira. She was previously married to ? Estrela.

Was a Portuguese teacher between 1973 and 1986. Is a deputy for the Portuguese Socialist Party and worked at the Portuguese Assembly between 1988 and 2002. Since 2004 is a deputy in the European Parlament. Has a master degree in Comunication and Media (1987).

Has two daughters: Patrícia (b. 1976) and Filipa (b. 1977). Patrícia is married to Pedro Cardoso and mother of Diogo Cardoso and Vicente Cardoso. Filipa is married to Gonçalo Severino and mother of Francisco Severino and Mafalda Severino.
