- Dave Clark is an award-winning filmmaker, known for blending emotionally resonant storytelling with groundbreaking technology. In recent years, he has become a GenAI thought leader, collaborating with top directors and studios on responsible usage of the technology.
In 2024, he co-founded Promise with George Strompolos and Jamie Byrne, a studio pioneering original storytelling through GenAI. At Promise, Dave drives the development of bold, genre-defying films, series, and new forms of entertainment.
Dave most recently debuted My Friend, Zeph, a coming-of-age story that showcased the power of hybrid filmmaking at Adobe MAX. He first garnered industry attention with Battalion, an AI-directed short about the only Black unit on Omaha Beach, and Another, the world’s first hybrid live-action/GenAI narrative, which premiered during his keynote at Cannes Next.
Previously, Dave built a successful career as a commercial director, creating cinematic campaigns for brands like Snapchat, Coca-Cola, Warner Bros., and Intel. A passionate advocate for the future of storytelling, he has spoken at the Venice Film Festival, Sundance, Berlinale, MIT, Indiewire, and Cannes.
Clark is a member of the Director’s Guild of America.
