Stewart’s work often examines how the things we dread most can become the forces that lead to our liberation.
Her short film The Other Partners premiered at the Oscar-qualifying RiverRun International Film Festival in 2024. Her psychological horror feature Wade in the Water has been supported by BendFilm: Basecamp and the Cucalorus Writing Residency. Stewart recently directed The Inheritance through the AFI Directing Workshop for Women+, a proof-of-concept short exploring ancestral trauma and erasure.
