Biography

Attila Korosi is a director, producer, and writer whose work blends stylized genre filmmaking with grounded human stories. Born in Yugoslavia, Korosi emigrated to the United States on a full athletic scholarship, where he earned a degree in Accounting, motivated by a desire to understand the business side of filmmaking. He also minored in screenwriting, literature, and economics, shaping a creative approach rooted equally in storytelling and practical execution.

His artistic development was influenced early on by Nobel Prize-nominated poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko, who helped refine his sense of expression and narrative voice. After relocating to Los Angeles, Korosi won a paid writing fellowship, where he was mentored by producers Peter Billingsley (Iron Man) and Nicholas Tabarrok (The Art of Steal, Defendor). He later developed an ongoing creative relationship with two-time Academy Award-nominated producer Michael Shamberg (Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, Erin Brockovich).

Korosi’s debut feature, Live and Die in East LA, premiered at Sony Pictures Studios in 2023 and received recognition from both the City and County of Los Angeles for its positive community impact. The film stars Richard Cabral, Robert LaSardo, and Cesar Garcia, alongside non-actors and former gang members from East Los Angeles, and explores themes of redemption and second chances. Audiences have continued to cite the film’s lasting impact on their families and communities.

His latest feature, Demon Dancer (also known as SUA/NARA), was shot entirely in South Korea across four cities and is described by Korosi as his "love letter to anime." The film features over 300 visual effects shots, innovative action design, including the first-ever fight sequence staged on a car elevator, and collaboration with South Korea’s leading action team, BornStunt.

The film attracted the attention of Academy Award-winning producer Barrie Osborne (The Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Face/Off), who traveled to Los Angeles for a private screening with Korosi and praised the project as bold and original.

For Korosi, films are more than entertainment; they are an emotional recharge, a source of strength during difficult times. This philosophy guides the stories he chooses to tell.
