  • Casey Hartnett is an American actress and filmmaker from Chicago, best known for her role in the horror box office hit, Terrifier 2, for which she won a Fangoria Chainsaw Award. Having worked on stage and screen, she is known for her nuanced and captivating performances.

    She speaks French and started learning the language at 2 years old when her family lived just outside of Paris. She then began dance lessons at age 3, soon competing in tap, jazz, ballet, and lyrical in the US. She performed in her first stage play with the Theatre of Western Springs (Chicago) at age 12, with her first leading role at 16 in Hush: An Interview with America. She graduated from The University of Iowa's Cinema program and went on to train at the William Esper Studio in New York City. After creating the sketch comedy series, Period Drama, about women in different time periods having their periods, she joined the menstrual equity movement in New York City, working with the organization #HappyPeriod as their NYC Chapter Head, organizing and facilitating events and donation drives to provide menstrual products to homeless and low income communities throughout the city.

    She has also written, produced, and directed several films, with her work focused on giving voice to women's rights issues and marginalized communities.
