- Maria Jones is a Swedish actress and writer born in Västerås and raised in Stockholm. She is fluent in both Swedish and English and works primarily in Europe and North America. She began acting at the age of 8 and immediately started training. She graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2014, which is also the year she earned her first stage combat certification with the BASSC leading to extensive training in both sword work and modern/tactical combat for film and TV. This led to a flurry of work in drama, fantasy, and sci-fi which are genres she still pursues. After graduating, she landed her first leading role in the drama/supernatural feature film "Burns Night" (2020). She has worked with directors such as Per-Olav Sorensen (Norway/Sweden), Josette Bushell-Mingo (UK/Sweden), and Gerry Mulgrew (UK). Two of her films have won awards at international film festivals. In 2017 "The Last Equniox" became Best Short Film at Doncaster Film Festival and "No one will notice if I die" received the Publishing Prize in 2019.
