Golam Mustofa is a Bangladeshi-born Canadian filmmaker, writer, producer, lyricist, and multimedia artist. He studied computer science, visual communication, computer animation, filmmaking, and multimedia arts through the City University of New York (CUNY) system in the United States.
Mustofa is best known for the feature film A Father's Diary, for which he served as writer, director, producer, songwriter, B-roll cinematographer, and visual effects supervisor. His earlier feature film A Drop of Love received recognition at several international film festivals, earning awards for dramatic filmmaking and directing. His short film Message in the Fortune Cookie was also recognized at international film festivals, receiving audience and experimental film honors.
In addition to filmmaking, Mustofa has worked in software performance engineering, test automation architecture, multimedia production, and technology education. His multidisciplinary background has contributed to a creative approach that combines storytelling, visual design, music, and technology.
As a songwriter and lyricist, he has written original works in both English and Bengali. His songs explore themes of love, migration, memory, identity, spirituality, and human connection, with more than four dozen original compositions developed in conjunction with film, music, and multimedia projects.
Known for frequently wearing distinctive hats at public appearances and film events, Mustofa has occasionally been referred to by media outlets and collaborators as "The Man with the Visionary Hat."
Based in the Greater Toronto Area, Mustofa continues to develop independent films, music, and multimedia productions for international audiences.
