Biography

Yas Modares Ghasiri is a bi-coastal actor, singer, writer, and award-winning producer based in Los Angeles. Of mixed Persian and Irish heritage, he appears on industry panels addressing MENA (Middle Eastern North African) representation in entertainment. With a strong stage background in Shakespeare and musical theater, Yas brings vocal and physical versatility to every role-bolstered by training in martial arts and weaponry. His work spans performance, storytelling, and production, with a focus on projects that uplift queer and Middle Eastern narratives.

Yas has practiced martial arts since the age of six, training in Shaolin Kemp, Tai Chi, Shotokan Karate-do, and Kobudo (focusing on the bo staff and nunchaku). He was even invited to train for U.S. Karate nationals.

In addition to receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Drama, as well as a minor in Criminology, Law, and Society from the University of California, Irvine, Yas also studied a wide range of dance under The Claire Trevor School of the Arts' prestigious dance program.

Yas sang in a special group performance at the Santa Barbra Opera.
