Philip Lawrence is an actor, writer, director, and film producer who is best known for playing the role of Dr. Maloney in the film Beasts of the Southern Wild which was nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Picture. Philip holds degrees in psychology and law and studied acting at The Stella Adler Academy of Acting & Theater in Los Angeles. His second film - The Long Walk: A Dance with Humanities which he produced and directed with legendary Navajo distance runner Edison Eskeets - won awards for Best Documentary and Audience Choice at the 2025 Golden Gate International Film Festival in San Jose, California and Best Documentary at the 2026 Albuquerque Film Festival.
