- Elaine Thrash Oliveira is a Brazilian Canadian actress and multidisciplinary performer based in Vancouver. Known for her emotional depth and grounded screen presence, she won Best Actress at the II Guaru Fantástico Film Festival for her lead role in Prime Time or Feast for Vultures (Horário Nobre ou Banquete para Urubus). Her film work also includes Vermibus, Dead Martha (Marta Morta), and Keep My Words Forever.
Active in independent film and theatre since 2007, Elaine brings a versatile background in acting, dance, and music to every project. Before moving to Canada, she fronted underground metal bands and hosted the Web TV show Metalsplash, interviewing artists across the heavy music scene.
In Vancouver, she continues to expand her creative practice as an actor, writer, and producer. She is the founder of a new theatre company and is developing her original play The Lucky Life of a Black Cat for the 2026 Fringe Festival. Her recent work includes short films, video poems, and published writing, with stories such as "Band Aid" and "Who’s Watching" appearing in W49 Magazine.
Elaine trained in the Film Arts Acting program at Langara College - earning a place on the Dean’s Honor Roll - and later graduated from Langara’s Creative Writing program with distinction.
