Sarah Storey was born on October 26, 1977 in Manchester, Greater Manchester, England, UK. She has been married to Barney Storey since 2007. They have two children.

She was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) before being awarded the Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 2013 Queen's New Years Honours List for her services to Para-cycling. She is a cyclist.

Gave birth to her 1st child at age 35, a daughter Louisa Marie Storey on June 27, 2013. Child's father is her husband, Barney Storey.
