Alya Lei

Alya Lei is a SAG-AFTRA character-driven comedic actor whose work blends heartfelt sincerity with quirky unpredictability. Her series credits include HBO’s Barry, Lucifer, 13 Reasons Why, Future States and Relative Disturbance. Her film credits include the award-winning short Laughing Again and The Step Between Us, selected for the London Global Film Awards.

An experienced improviser with training at UCB and Groundlings, Alya brings spontaneity, layered reactions, and an instinct for ensemble comedy to her work. She is particularly drawn to playing impassioned idealists who care deeply, try hard, and don’t always quite fit the room, whether as the friend you trust, the parent who tries a little too hard, or the authority figure holding it together (mostly).

Alya is a team player, collaborating on television and film roles in uplifting, ensemble-driven stories with a particular passion for smart, character-centered sitcoms.

Alya Lei was a member (and producer) of "FreeFall International" Improv troupe - an international group of actors and creators, established during the pandemic. They performed live, unscripted shows on zoom for audiences all around the world, connecting with joy, tears and laughter, by recognizing everyone's shared humanity.
