Biography

Sebnem Vitrinel is a Turkish screenwriter, producer, and writer with extensive experience in both film and television. She co-wrote the screenplay for What Remains and served as the film's executive producer. She continued her work as an executive producer on But Muzeyyen That's the Deepest Desire and collaborated with director Onur Ünlü for several years, including serving as the executive producer for his 2013 film Thou Gild'st the Even.

In addition to her work in cinema, Vitrinel co-wrote the screenplay for Why Can't I Be Tarkovsky alongside Murat Düzgünoglu, a film that won Best Screenplay at the Frankfurt Film Festival. She has also contributed to Turkish television as a writer for the series Subat and My Father and His Family.

Beyond screenwriting and production, she has been active in academia, teaching Production Studies at Yasar University in Izmir. She also co-directed the Women Directors Festival in 2019 alongside Gülten Taranc, supporting female filmmakers in the industry.

In recent years, Vitrinel has shifted her focus toward personal writing, working on both short and long-form fiction, including a fantasy novel in progress. She shares her literary and cinematic insights on her Instagram and YouTube accounts, engaging with a growing audience interested in storytelling and film.
