Abhishek Narayan(I)

Abhishek Narayan is originally from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and is currently based in Mumbai. He has been actively associated with theatre since 2003 and is a theatre and film producer, actor, theatre practitioner and light designer. Over more than two decades of creative work, he has established a distinctive identity across Indian theatre, acting, lighting design and film production. He is particularly recognised for his work in lighting design. Since 2003, he has designed the lighting for more than 1,000 theatre productions. His work has contributed to making light an integral part of storytelling, atmosphere, emotion and the visual language of a performance. He has worked with several senior and acclaimed artists and theatre practitioners, including Dr. Anil Kumar Rastogi (Darpan, Lucknow), Pankaj Kapur (Theatron, Mumbai), Sushil Kumar Singh (NSD & FTII), Amitabh Srivastava (NSD), V. K. Sharma (NSD), Mushtaq Kak (SRC, Delhi), Ranjit Kapoor (NSD, Delhi), Nadira Zaheer Babbar and Dr. Urmil Kumar Thapdiyal (Darpan, Lucknow), among many other distinguished theatre personalities. As an actor, he has worked in films, advertisements and web series with reputed production houses and platforms including Yash Raj Films, Satish Kaushik Entertainment, Netflix, ZEE5, Wave OTT, MX Player and DD National. KARWAN THEATRE GROUP MUMBAI In 2019, Abhishek Narayan founded Karwan Theatre Group Mumbai. Karwan aims to create a platform for India's diverse theatre traditions, performing arts, folk and martial-art forms, as well as contemporary theatrical experimentation. Since 2019, Karwan has presented numerous successful theatre productions across India.
