Guillermo Machado was born in 1975 in Montreal, Canada to Venezuelan parents. After years of moving from country to country, Guillermo wound up in El Paso, TX for ten years until he graduated with honors from Coronado High School. He graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin in three years and twice attempted law school (Dallas and New York) at age 20 and 21, quitting both times before the start of the first day of class.

At 24, Guillermo moved to Los Angeles, CA in pursuit of a career in show business. He was instantly picked up by CMEG (Marki Costello & Shukri Ghalayini). He auditioned for several key roles on day time soap operas (Days of Our Lives) and feature films, but he proved an unsuccessful actor.

A year later (2000-2001), Guillermo co-wrote his first screenplay (Depression era, Hoover Dam) with fellow aspiring actor, Joel Carpenter that landed the writing duo meetings at major production companies on studio lots, including Davis Entertainment (Predator). The buzz created in those months gave Guillermo something tangible to build on. He could write. Guillermo would go on to write several more screenplays (including A Penny's Tail) before embarking on a final attempt at law school.

In 2007, while continuing to pursue his creative ambitions (writing his first novel during his final semester of law school), Guillermo graduated top of his class from Trinity Law School, Santa Ana, CA. He passed the California Bar on his first attempt and has been practicing law with his wife ever since.

Guillermo has studied screenwriting under esteemed writer/producer/director Phil Guidry, MFA Screenwriting, and movie guru, Dov Simens. Guillermo has written over thirty feature screenplays and television pilots for the likes of award-winning director, Helmut Schleppi.

In 2011, after writing the horror screenplay, Miracle Farm, that earned him top 10% entry at the Nicholl Fellowship, Guillermo was approached by Joel Carpenter to co-write/produce the true story of a cattle dog turned international celebrity. The project, titled Skidboot, is in advanced stages of development.

In 2012, Guillermo was tabbed to write a feature script about a boy's struggles in a Panamanian orphanage. The project is being packaged/shopped by Seedling Media (Panama), Brittany Devries.

Guillermo penned and published his first epic novel (crime/noir/fantasy), They Came in Twos, to positive reviews from Kirkus and 4 of 5 stars from both San Francisco & Portland Book Reviews. The novel will receive the screenplay treatment with Guillermo to helm both writing and directing duties.

Guillermo went on to write and publish the crowd-pleasing children's book, The World Famous Inanimates, with the illustration talents of Christina Leal. KIDS FIRST, Coalition for Quality Children's Media, has endorsed it.

In 2016, Guillermo wrote, produced and directed his first feature film, Wounded (released 2017), about a husband and wife during their last dinner. It was selected into the 2016 Cineplay Film Awards, Digital Box Office and won semi-finalist at the 2016 Los Angeles Cinefest. The movie was made for less than $10,000 and was in final consideration for selection into the Newport Beach Film Festival.

In 2017, Guillermo published a collection of short stories, including the novella, Go and Sin No More, novelettes, Legend of RasMousen, Runaway Truck, Speculation and Junior. The collection is published under the title: Soap in the Gutter.

in 2018, Guillermo wrote the hard-hitting Western, El Paso and the LGBT drama, Cali. Both are being shopped.

Guillermo doesn't shy away from controversial topics and cherishes the exploration of the darkness of the human condition in its pursuit towards redemption.
