- Jem Ong Woo was born on September 11, 1922 in China. Jem Ong was a producer, known for Yorktown: A Time to Heal (2022) and Yorktown: In Temporary Command (1984). Jem Ong died on August 15, 2007 in Covina, California, USA.
- President of the Gee How Oak Tin Association (Los Angeles Chapter) in 1984. Later served as a Senior Advisor until his death in 2007.
- In the mid-80s, Jem Ong Woo financed the first Star Trek fan film to ever feature an actor from the original TV series (George Takei as Sulu) along with James Shigeta as Admiral Nogura. The short film was called "Yorktown: A Time to Heal".
- Jem Ong Woo was one of the owners and founders of Eastern Noodle Company in Los Angeles. Eastern Noodle Company was a manufacturer of Chinese Style Noodles, Wanton Skins, and Fortune Cookies. They were one of the supplier that catered to Benson Fong's Ah Fong's Chinese Restaurant in Hollywood, California during the 1960s and 1970s. Eastern Noodle Company later morphed into Eastern Entertainment founded by his son, Stan Woo. Eastern Entertainment was a video post production facility in Los Angeles that produced actor's reels and video duplication.
