Biography

Gaurav Mehra is a Mumbai based filmmaker hugely known for his short film SEAl (2018). He was born in patna, raised and studied in Delhi. He is a Whistling woods International ex-student who studied Film Editing there (2009-11). He assisted casting director and director Honey Trehan and lated ventured into assisting in films & TV commercials in 2012. He has directed more than five short films including SEAL(most recent) which won him best story award at prestigious Director's guild, iftda, Mumbai with best film nomination at Filmfare and best director nomination at Critics choice awards. His next is his directorial debut Jamun, starring Raghubir Yadav, Shweta Basu Prasad which is up for release in late 2019.

Gaurav's debut feature film Jamun (IMDB 7.5), starring Raghubir Yadav, Shweta Basu Prasad, Sunny Hinduja & Saurabh Goyal in lead roles, released on 21.1.21 which is streaming on Apple TV+, Eros Now (as Original), Amazon Prime and other platforms with rave reviews. He has also directed more than five short films including SEAL (IMDB 8.6; 2nd biggest short film of India) which won him best script award at prestigious Director's guild, IFTDA, Mumbai with best film nomination at Filmfare awards & best director nomination at Critics choice awards, helmed by Anupama Chopra. His last short film 'Guddu' released in PVR across India in 2019 and is streaming on Voot Originals. As a writer Gaurav has written over eight scripts (including shows), One of which has been sold to Panorama Studios and three of are being pitched by Purple pebbles pictures (owned by Priyanka Chopra Jonas) and Saarthi Entertainment.
