- Graduated in Psychology, he began working as a director in 1996. He worked for years in the film industry as an assistant director. As a director and documentary author, he has collaborated with numerous Italian and international broadcasters, and his works have been acquired by Rai, Sky, Arté, ZDF, Netflix, and Disney+. In 2005, he founded the production company Demetra Produzioni, and since 2009 he has been the artistic director of the SiciliAmbiente Film Festival. Recently, as a director, he created a six-episode doc-series titled Oltre Le Ombre. As both author and director of documentaries, he has created: Nel Nome del Silenzio, La Corsa dell’Ora, Il Santo Nero, Silvio Uno di Noi, No Man’s Land, A Tutto Tonno, Terre in Moto, Cronache di Mafia, La Favola Perduta, A Pirrera, Crimini di Pace, Ore d’Aria, Nel cuore delle alghe e dei coralli, and Peppino Impastato - Storia di un Siciliano Libero. He also directed short fiction films such as: Linea 101 with Filippo Luna; Andare with Luigi Lo Cascio and Salvatore Cantalupo; Senza Tempo with Salvatore Cantalupo and Gaspare Cucinella. As a writer, he contributed to: Prospettiva Ballarò by Salvo Cuccia and Tutte le Scuole del Regno by Marco Bechis. In 2018, with the docufilm La Corsa dell’Ora, he won the "Nastro d’Argento" award for Best Docufiction. In 2025, with the documentary Nel Nome del Silenzio, he was awarded in the final five of the "Nastri d’Argento" in the Cinema of Reality category.
