Biography

  • Alexandre Ottoveggio is an actor, writer, and filmmaker with Sicilian and Corsican roots. Born in Casablanca, he began his career acting in television commercials, doing publicity work before moving into international film productions. Early in his career, Alexandre also worked as part of the film crew, gaining hands on experience in multiple departments. He worked in casting and translation on major productions such as Black Hawk Down by Ridley Scott, Furia by Alexandre Aja, and the television series Shaka Zulu with Oliver Reed and Grace Jones, as well as Cleopatra with Billy Zane. He later moved into stunt work, performing as a stuntman on Inception by Christopher Nolan, as a stunt double on Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, and in Un Balcon sur la Mer with Jean Dujardin. He also worked as a stunt performer on the 2010 TV series Ben Hur. His first major acting break came when he portrayed the legendary boxer Marcel Cerdan in the feature film Larbi or The Great Football Player. He later played a journalist in the American film A Crack in Everything and a military officer in the action-comedy Road to Kabul. Passionate about cinema, Alexandre studied cinematography and filmmaking, later writing and directing his own films in the United States and the Nordic countries. His work has earned multiple festival nominations and awards for directing and screenwriting. For over two decades, he has been a figure of independent filmmaking, developing and promoting indie film culture through his workshops, productions, and film festivals. Also a published author with more than eleven novels released internationally, Alexandre's writing shares the same cinematic sensibility as his films - rich in atmosphere, emotion, and humanity.
