Mini bio

  • Burlesque performer Bella Sin was born in Juarez, Chihuahua Mexico in 1984. After immigrating to Denver, Colorado with her mother she adapted to the American lifestyle, soaking up the history and customs of her new home. While learning about American history, Sin encountered the raw and passionate art of Burlesque dance and culture. Fascinated and fixated on this seductive skill, Sin was compelled to attend a performance of renowned Burlesque dancer Kitten De' Ville. Sin was mesmerized and began to study Burlesque on her own.

Sin practiced endlessly and worked up to her first live performance in January of 2003, performing "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane. Even as a debut entertainer, she felt an exhilarating rush as she danced for the first time, despite a few performances flaws. "I didn't quite know what I was doing that first time I got on stage, but it was an invigorating experience. Performing became my drug, and I was deeply addicted to it," Sin recounts. Learning from her mistakes, Sin worked harder and harder to perfect her art.

After a few more performances, Sin packed her bags and moved to Akron, Ohio in pursuit of love and furthering her career. After finding success in Ohio, she formed Le Femme Mystique Burlesque, a full figured review of local women. Sin states, "I wanted to find another opportunity, so I found a talented group of dancers and furthered my Burlesque success." The initial line-up included Ava Love, Kitty La'Purr and Phoenix Rysing , but unfortunately they never touched the stage. A new line-up was created, including Rain, Venus Ecstasy and Morgan Eire, who finally debuted in March 2004 at the R/E nightclub, (currently Skyy Bar) alongside the Rubber City Bombshells.

The review was successful, but the troupe had a lot of work ahead of them, changing to a more classic and elegant image, and going through many line-up changes. Drag performer Danyel Vasquez assisted Sin in becoming a popular Burlesque performer in the LGBT community and helping her gain a broader knowledge of the entertainment industry. "Vasquez helped enormously," Sin says, "if it were not for her, my performances, song-pickings and costuming would not be what it is today." In the coming years, the troupe moved to former Burlesque mecca Cleveland, Ohio in pursuit of a revival of the Cleveland Roxy Theatre.

To this day, Bella Sin and Le Femme Mystique Burlesque is Cleveland's premiere Burlesque troupe. Sin is known throughout northeastern Ohio for revitalizing the Burlesque movement in the area. Her astonishing credentials and achievements have been noted and praised in numerous publications including a national documentary. Besides furthering her dancing career, Sin continues to model, volunteer in the LGBT community which has helped make her famous and infamous, and inspires a whole array of aspiring performers.

Sin also Co-Produces The Ohio Burlesque Festival that takes place in Cleveland, OH every August.
