Biography

Actress Mariana Buoninconti was given the awards by Festival Iberoamericano Cumbre de las Americas 2008 (best unipersonal), Ace 2007 (best actress), Ace 2004 (best dramatic actress) and Hola 2004 (best dramatic actress). She was been nominated by Ace in 2003, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2011.

Since 2006 she has been the host of the television show "Mariana's O-varios" on Jurukan TV.

Graduated from the School of Dramatic Arts in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she has studied the Art of Comedy and Variety Theater with Leandro Rosati. Mariana has also studied with Alicia Bruzzo in Buenos Aires and Eduardo Pardo in Miami, as well as corporal expression with Elena Duarte.

She began acting at the age of 15; she was part of the cast of Narizopas Theater (which produced musical comedies for children) and the Puppet Theatre in Buenos Aires and other provinces of Argentina. She was also part of the cast in the musical comedy "Waku Waku" at the Metropolitan Theater in Buenos Aires, company with which she toured the north of country.

She has performed classic theater, plays such as "The Glass Menagerie" by Tennessee Williams, "Fear and Misery in the third Reich" by Bertolt Brecht and "A View from the Bridge" by Arthur Miller. She has also made comedies of the absurd and monologues by Nini Marshall.

In Miami she worked in "The Adventures of Don Quixote". In New York, in "The Wizard of Oz", "The Imaginary Invalid", "Positive woman", "Soufflé de Rosas" and in Repertorio Español's "El Perro del Hortelano", "La casa de Bernarda Alba" and "Madre". In New York, she got an ACE nomination as Best New Star of 2003 for "The Wizard of Oz", and in 2004 she got an HOLA Award as Best New Star for her outstanding performance in "Soufflé de Rosas" and an ACE Award for Best Supporting Actress for the same play.
