Biography

Beve Bourne

Mini bio

  • Bevé Bourné has been enchanted with the magic of studio television and film production ever since she set foot behind the scenes on the set of her Uncle David's cooking show, "The Gourmet," in Dallas, TX as a youngster. During her childhood, she spent many hours experimenting with the family Super 8 camera, the reel-to-reel tape recorder and film editing machine, all of which were of great fascination to her and helped lead to her technical background.

In her 20's, after studying fine art, music, psychology and photography, working in graphic arts and playing music for a number of years, Beverly had the opportunity to work as a studio tech and floor manager in Denver on several different productions as well as work on experimental music videos. Then, after relocating, within a short time she found herself immersed in the study of traditional animation at the Film Arts Foundation in San Francisco, CA where she created her film festival debut - the ultra-short animated film study, "The Dream", which was shown at the San Francisco Film Arts Festival in 1991.

Today, after completing both the narrative and documentary programs at the Zaki Gordon Institute for Independent Filmmaking in Sedona, Arizona, she has a special affinity with using digital media as an extension of visual expression. Along with her work in fine art, Bevé frequently works in management, production or as a 1st AD on small independent sets. She also runs ViaMedia Productions / ViaMedia Design Network, which offer graphic design services for print, web and digital video in Sedona, AZ and Santa Fe, NM. Beverly hopes to continue to expand her work in filmmaking, with a focus on editing, production management and on-set work as an AD and as a script supervisor.
