  • Nika Rozman was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia (Yugoslavia). She is an established Slovenian actress, awarded for film and theatre roles. Her first significant role was Shakespeare's Juliet right after she graduated from acting at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television at the University of Ljubljana. Since then she has created over forty theatre roles in different Slovenian theaters, among them many leading ones, such as Ostrovsky's Katerina for which she was awarded the Borstnik Award for Best Young Actress . The roles of Wedekind's Lulu and Cankar's Jacinta have brought her an Acting Award given by the Slovenian Association of Dramatic Artists. She has also played Ophelia in Shakespeare's Hamlet. She has appeared in numerous short and feature films, video and television productions, but has become known to the Slovenian public with the role of the blonde model Mia in the horror feature Killbillies, which won several awards and earned her a Vesna Award for Best Supporting Actress. Soon after that she was cast for her first leading role in the feature film Buoyancy where she precisely portrayed dilemmas of a young lawyer Rebecca. The television audience got to know her as Tina Lanc, a detective in a very popular crime series Jezero, Leninov park and Dolina Roz. for which she won The Brightest Star Award 2020 and was two times nominated for Best Actress for Hearts of Sarajevo Award for TV Series at the 27th and the 28th Sarajevo Film Festival. She regularly lends her voice to radio and animated characters. Younger audience will also recognize her as a host of a popular children's TV show on the Slovenian National Television. She is currently working as a freelance artist choosing projects of her interest, such as shooting for film/television and theatre research. She lives in Ljubljana and travels around for auditions and workshops. She loves spending her free time in her small garden or climbing in the Slovenian mountains. She is also one of the founders of the Screen Actors Guild of Slovenia.
