Biography

Francisco de la Reguera is an actor, director, producer, and screenwriter from Veracruz, Mexico. After studying Visual Arts, he began his acting career in the series Niño Santo (2011) and made his feature film debut in The Kids Are Back (2017), earning a nomination at the 2018 Canacine Awards.

He made his debut as creator, writer, and director with Los Hermanos Salvador (2022), the first Mexican fiction series to premiere on Disney+ Latin America. In 2024, he presented the short film La mente fracturada (2024) at the Guanajuato International Film Festival, supported by PROCINE CDMX. That same year, his feature screenplay "Fantastic Funerals" was selected for the Feratum Screenwriters Residency and the FanPitch at the Sitges Film Festival in Barcelona.

As a creator, his signature lies in blending magical realism, comedy, mystery, and horror, each story shaped by its own distinct tone. His work draws deeply from Mexican popular imagination, its legends, myths, and symbols, transforming them into narratives where the fantastic and the everyday coexist seamlessly.
