Samuel Pisar was born on 18 March 1929 in Bialystok, Podlaskie, Poland. He was married to Judith Frehm. He died on 27 July 2015 in New York City, New York, USA.
At the age of 13, he was departed to the Nazi death camps in Majdanek, then Auschwitz and Dachau, where he was freed at the age of 16. Unfortunately his parents and younger sister died during the Holocaust.
