Biography

Mentored by the President of Original Content at Tyler Perry Studios, Angi Bones, Korsica Norwood is a production professional with extensive experience behind the scenes in film and television. Starting off as a production assistant, beating out another candidate for the same job because she proved herself invaluable at the end of a one-week trial period, she has since developed relationships with professionals in almost every department in production.

Studying journalism at Georgia State University for three years, Korsica put her education on pause after the death of her grandmother, who inspired her to attend college. After taking some time to work odd jobs and manage her grief, she began pursuing a career in entertainment, quickly earning her eligibility to join the DGA. Her credits include "Rickey Smiley for Real" (TV-One), "The Game" (BET) and "Meet the Browns (TBS).

Instead of joining the director's union, Korsica changed industry paths, this time cultivating knowledge in costumes. Within the first six months of this change, she landed a job as a Costume PA under the tutelage of Academy Award-winning costume designer, Ruth Carter. Her costume credits in television include "The Wonder Years" (ABC) and "The Ms. Pat Show" (BET +). She is a member of IATSE, Local 479.

Korsica's desire to learn multiple aspects of the industry has also afforded her opportunities to work as a Script Supervisor, "A Cross to Bear" (TV-One), an Assistant Director, "Life Without Hope" (Amazon) and a casting director, "Girls Just Don't Do That" (YouTube).

With over a decade of solid experience working in television and film, Korsica recently shifted her industry path again, this time to focus on content. Drawing on her creative background as poet and writer, she created a show called, "PAs" with a goal of working as a television executive producer.
