Michelle Farivar(I)
- Actress
Actress Michelle Farivar grew up in
Angeles, California with an exposure to waves of contrasting
ethnic, religious, and social identities. She took to the stage to melt the distinctions that divided people to find and express what was most
deeply human, true and shared across barriers. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at UCLA and continued forward to pursue a doctorate in clinical psychology at Alliant international university. She now supports adults, children and families using creative and performative arts as a powerful modality to accelerate therapeutic change that can reach beyond the barriers of traditional talk therapy formats.
Passionate about human rights awareness and the healing power of the arts, she has steered her activism in this direction. She has worked to facilitate creative arts with students from underprivileged communities, rehabilitation facilities, domestic violence survivors programs, and on Skid Row. Dr. Farivar sees the expressive arts as a fundamental part of a healthy and vital community and supports efforts toward the development and integration of expressive arts programs in Los Angeles local communities.
