Mini bio

  • Director/editor Ariel Gardner was born August 1, 1989 in Los Angeles, CA. He graduated from San Francisco State with a Bachelor's in Cinema in 2012.

Along with his collaborator Alex Kavutskiy, Gardner cut his teeth in the filmmaking collective of Channel 101, creating a number of memorable cinematic web-series with such as "Breaking Good" (2012), "Murderers" (2013), "Fishbowls Are Definitely My Thing" (2014) and "Kill The Baby" (2015). Kill The Baby, a frenetic & stylized black comedy about the chaos that ensues following a father's decision to kill his child, was awarded a Vimeo Staff Pick.

In 2015, Alex & Ariel completed their first feature-length film "On The Rocks" (2017), an adaptation of a pilot they made for Channel 101 featuring many performers from the community.

In 2016, they have made a number of short films for their live show "Alex & Ariel's Six Flags Magic Mountain." Among the shorts are "Judy," "Sound Speeds," "A Ripple of Nothing Significant," and "Nancy."
