Biography

Steven Carino is known for Midnight Show (2016), Geeks, Girls, Guns and Ghouls (2015) and Daylight Dracula.

In preparing for a shoot, Steven maps the set and draws storyboards precisely how he wants a sequenced to be filmed. Then he builds his shot-list from that.

Steven started drawing at the age of 5, and wanted to pursue a career in illustrating comic books. While working in a animation studio in Brooklyn, NY did he start researching on how to make video professionally. Once Apple released Final Cut Pro editing software, he abandoned his drawing table.

His one screenplay, Dead Ted Pumpkinhead reached top 10% in the Nicholl Fellowship, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. His second screenplay, Bala Clava reached top 20%.

While attending The Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art , Steven would collect 8mm film equipment from yard sales and create personalize 'film lessons' based on theory involving editing, animation and visual effects.
