Biography

Krisjiannis Vittato is an Afro-Diasporic writer, visual artist, and composer, with an affinity for suspense, mythology, and the supernatural. "God-curious" themes, the human condition, mysticism, and the paranormal are commonly woven into the fibers of his stories.

'American Baptism' was the breakthrough film after a long hiatus, and the first in a series of works focused on the Race Myth, systemic oppression by the American state, gender and queer oppression, and false Christianity, among other polarizing topics covered in these eerie Parables of the West.

Vittato has begun the latter half of 2021 in the production of 'Maiala the Blackfaced!' - both a narrative short film and epic ballad, an artistic work of prophecy against the 'melaneering' terrorist and systemic oppressor of the Diaspora and Latinos, Kamala Harris. This and other theatrical musical works come alongside more short films, including 'Charlie Austen's Solo' and 'The Darkwater Christening', more dark, neo-gothic suspense dramas in the 'White Feminist Suite' of the American Parables (formerly 'American Pensées' series).

The first (to be released) feature film of Vittato, Witchwood, has also commenced a long pre-production period, and is planned to shoot at 2022's beginning.

Immersed in beloved and compelling narratives since his youth, Krisjian's works show his interest in spirituality and in the human condition.

He has felt most at-home in the creation of visually-rich mythologies, science fiction, suspense, epics, or a melange of any of these genres. The sacred and the supernatural are commonly interwoven into his narratives.

Krisjian's first feature - a suspenseful superhuman origins film named 'Wunderkinder' - follows this trend, as well as the short films from his 'The American Pensées' anthology, including 'The Bedfellow', 'Open Fire', and 'Charlie Austen's Solo'.
