Originally a competitive tennis player, an injury involving her back meant she was unable to play anymore. She then decided to become a singer/rapper.

Carr was discovered at a Game concert. The host, comedian Stroy Moyd, asked the audience if anyone could freestyle. Carr got on stage and free-styled while the crowd waited for the Game to show up. The fans reacted positively, and Colette "fell in love" with performing.

Her influences include Barış Manço, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Cure, Dr. Dre, Biggie, Pac, Wu-Tang Clan, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Britney Spears.

Occupied the number 1 spot on Billboard's Uncharted Artists chart.

Was discovered by Nick Cannon after having a #1 song on MTV.
