Blake Vaz is an EMMY® Award-winning filmmaker, director, writer, and producer born in the borderlands of Juárez, Mexico, and El Paso, Texas. A passionate storyteller with deep multicultural roots, Vaz has spent over fifteen years creating bold, visually-driven content across film, television, branded entertainment, and digital media.

He began his career in digital publishing at the Tribune Company, where he helped lead the transition of Hoy Newspaper into a digital-first platform. From there, he brought his creativity and cultural insight to advertising agencies like Walton Isaacson and WALO, producing original content for brands including Lexus, Netflix, McDonald's, 7-Eleven, Jarritos, Spalding, and Wells Fargo.

At Walton Isaacson, Blake helped bring the acclaimed series Té Para Tres to life, serving as producer on two Emmy Award-winning seasons. He has since developed and directed branded docuseries like Reengineering Popular Music and Hyundai Highways, a celebrated EV road trip travelogue shot across six national parks. He also directed the family-friendly YouTube series Hyundai Helpers, blending car maintenance with lighthearted comedy.

Through his company, Valagardo Productions, Blake produces branded content, commercials, and narrative films that merge cinematic visuals with social impact. His independent horror shorts-including L.U.N.A., Blood Stains, and Matches-have screened at over 90 film festivals globally, earning 26 awards and 18 nominations.

His latest horror short, Il Colore della Notte-a visceral, award-winning cosmic giallo shot with Super 8 and iPhone on location in Italy, Mexico, and Los Angeles-has been hailed for its raw atmosphere, stylized violence, and Lovecraftian tone.

Beyond horror, Vaz recently directed El Camino de los Fighters, a branded docuseries for Modelo that highlights immigrant resilience and small business legacies, and the heartfelt Tuned & Grilled for Pepsi, celebrating Latino family and Father's Day.

Blake has several projects in development including Frutero, a horror-crime anthology centered on street vendors in Los Angeles, and La Noche Lleva Espuelas, a giallo-western revenge thriller inspired by Mexican folklore, violence against women, and the golden age of Mexican cinema.

Known for his ability to blend grassroots ingenuity with high-end storytelling, Vaz continues to champion diverse stories that move, unsettle, and inspire.
