Biography

  • Amber started performing at the tender age of six when she played Rosa Parks in her school's Black History Month celebration event. Ever since, the acting bug has dug itself deep under her skin.

Throughout high school, she performed in plays such as Book of Days, The Spiral Staircase, and Smokey Joe's Cafe. Never one to stick to just one genre, she also participated in the variety and improv shows that went on at the end of each year.

After high school, instead of going on with everyone else to college, she decided to serve her country in the United States Marine Corps. For five years, she served honorably allowing her to grow a tough skin, learn persistence and prepare herself for what was to come.

Once out, she went back to her acting roots and received an Associates in Acting from the Academy of Art University (AAU). While studying there, she had the privilege to study many techniques to include the Meisner Technique under Jim Jarrett. She was also able to hone her skills in front of the camera participating in many scenes such as Easy A, Sex, Lies, and Videotape, How Harry Met Sally, and many more.

Acting was not enough for this budding creative as she decided to branch out into writing and directing. Her first short film, 'Homecoming' about a young Marine losing the love of his life in combat, went on to do well in the local film circuit. It also allowed her some time behind the camera learning the production side working on films such as Blood Stripe and I Am Not A Serial Killer.

Feeling like she wanted more, she went back to the classroom and studied at the Stella Adler Studio in New York where a new fire lit her passion for all things filmmaking. Though the pandemic did slow some things down, Amber is back making new films, new series, and much more.

    The future is looking bright.
