Biography

Fred Chong is an award-winning film & music producer from Malaysia and studied film producing at the New York Film Academy. His first feature film (Nasi Lemak 2.0) as writer-producer successfully broke the Malaysian box-office record in 2012 and subsequently became multiple film festival favorites including Osaka Asian Film Festival (Asia Best New Talent), New York Asian Film Festival, Puchon Fantastic Film Festival, Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival and Okinawa Film Festival.

He continued to write and produce several films including Hantu Gangster (2013), Kara King (2014), Banglasia (2015), Rise Inikalilah (2018) and recently Juang (2021). Fred is also involve in developing many original drama series including (Gangster of Shanghai) in partnership with Ciwen Media China. He is co-founder of Filmforce, one of Malaysia's most established film production company with his partner Allyan Too. His upcoming projects including (Pulau), where as executive producer, Fred is bringing together a new generation of star-studded Malaysian casts to the big screen and beyond.

Fred holds a Master Degree in Engineering Management (MEM) from University of Canterbury, New Zealand and as the founder of Asia's fastest growing digital company WebTVAsia, he is a frequent speaker in many international media and entertainment conferences including TEDX KL (Malaysia), APOS (Asia Pacific Operator Summit), TMT Finance Asia (Singapore), Asia Video Industry Association (AVIA) Summit (Hong Kong), TechSauce (Thailand), Content Asia Summit (Singapore) and others - where he shares his views on how WebTVAsia can play a vital role in future of Asia digital entertainment landscapes.
