Hana Kazim received her MFA from the AFI Conservatory in Los Angeles. She has been working as a creative producer and writer in the UAE since 2015 and worked on several Arab feature films, including the box-office hit The Ambush, directed by Pierre Morel.
In 2018, she wrote and directed the short horror film Makr, which garnered widespread recognition at genre festivals, including Fantastic Fest and Frightfest. It gained over two million views online through the Alter platform and was featured on Short of the Week.
In 2022, Hana started Wiswas, an Arab horror-focused development company based in the UAE. That same year, she wrote and directed the pilot episode of the horror anthology series Kaboos for StarzPlay Arabia.
Most recently, Hana premiered her latest cosmic horror short Yathoom at FilmQuest and participated in Film Independent’s Global Media Makers program, where she continued developing her work in genre filmmaking.
