Biography

Rebecca Frazier is a New York City based director and choreographer, best known for her choreographic work on the short film Dream No. 37,091 and the upcoming Nyctophobia. She was the choreographer for recording artist JR Price's debut music video "Body Positive."

Dream No. 37,091 was an official selection of several festivals, including New Filmmakers New York and a semi finalist for the Rainbow Cinema Awards LGBT Film Festival.

Rebecca directs and choreographs musical theater all over the country as well as in New York, and is a teaching artist on the dance convention circuit.

Rebecca Frazier is an NYC based director, choreographer and teaching artist.

Rebecca creates choreography for musicals-movement that is purposeful, authentic to story and character, and often steeped in historical research and accuracy. Her choreographic lens-"who are these people, and why do they move?" serves to create musical theater dance to aid, not hinder, storytelling advancement.

Rebecca's choreography was featured at Sierra Repertory Theatre, in both R+H Cinderella and Sh-Boom: A Christmas Miracle, the world premiere of Roger Bean's new musical.

She choreographed the regional premiere of Escape to Margaritaville at Timber Lake Playhouse and she was a featured choreographer at the New York Theater Barn Choreography Lab and has presented work at venues like Dixon Place and the Tank in NYC, and a dance installation featured at the Robot Love Festival held at the Foosaner Art Museum in Melbourne, FL. Other choreography credits include Young Frankenstein (Broadway World Nomination, Best Choreography), Once Upon a Mattress, The Wizard of Oz, and Lucky Stiff.

As a director, Rebecca leads teams with precision, grace, and a wholistic approach; considering all technical aspects while building the final product. Rebecca has a BA in Technical Theater and English and a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from the State of New York.

Her directing credits include Off Broadway, New York and regional theater, working on shows such as Evita, Mamma Mia, and You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown! Her production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown was nominated for the 2021 Berkshire Theatre Award for Outstanding Musical. Rebecca has also directed new works, including Zoe Hates Green for the SOOP to Nuts Festival at the SOOP Theatre.

Rebecca specializes in choreography for screen. Working closely with DPs, directors, and designers on the set, Rebecca creates choreography intended for the camera. Most recently, Rebecca choreographed the award winning dance short "Reverie".

Rebecca choreographed the award winning short film "Dream No 37, 091" and choreographs for recording artist Poonam Singh, including her debut single "Sick and Tired". Her choreography and movement direction will be seen in the upcoming short film "Nyctophobia".

Rebecca is on the full time faculty at the world renowned Steps on Broadway in New York, and frequently guest teaches at Broadway Dance Center, also in New York City. Additionally, she has taught for conventions, at Tap Dance Detroit, the Salt City Dance Festival, and at dance studios all over the country.
