Biography

Max trained professionally form the age of 10 at the Tring Park Arts Educational School. Tring Park gave him a wonderfully well-rounded base in theatrical arts. After graduating early at 17 he moved into the English National Ballet where he had an illustrious career performing principal roles around the world 2004-2016. Feeling a strong passion towards story telling he moved into the west end as an actor performer. Performing title roles in shows such as Mathew Bourne's Swan Lake and An American in Paris. Max now works extensively in Film and television in front of the camera but also behind as a choreographer and director.

Max Westwell began his professional training at 10 at Tring Park Arts Educational School, where he gained a strong foundation in theatrical arts. Graduating early at 17, Max joined the English National Ballet and enjoyed an illustrious 12-year career (2004-2016), performing principal roles internationally. Highlights include Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker, Manon, Petite Mort, Akram Khan's Giselle, and Sleeping Beauty.

Transitioning to the West End, Max performed in leading roles, including Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake (UK and international tours, 2018-2020) and An American in Paris at the Dominion Theatre (2017-2018). Recently, he appeared in Dr. Semmelweis at the Harold Pinter Theatre (2023).

Max has also made significant contributions to film and TV. His credits include Bridgerton Seasons 2 and 3 (Assistant Choreographer, Featured Dancer Eros), Queen Charlotte (Assistant Choreographer), Greatest Days (Dance Assistant), The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (Flower Cavalier), and Agony and Ecstasy (BBC Documentary). His work also extends to performance and choreography in projects like Hold Me Forever (directed by Cillian Murphy) and Can't Dance (Kelli-Leigh).
