Biography

Jim Huber was born on August 28, 1944 in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, USA. He was a writer and producer, known for The Sporting Life with Jim Huber (1992), A Tale of Two Seasons (1984) and Sports Tonight (1980). He was married to Carol. He died on January 2, 2012 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

He was awarded the Emmy for his essay and reporting on "The Olympic Park Bombing at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Games.".

He contributed sports stories to CNN/SI, the 24 hour joint venture by Ted Turner and Sports Illustrated magazine that ended in 2002. He was also co-anchor with Nick Charles who died in June 2011 on CNN's Sports Tonight. He covered golf and National Basketball Association for the TBS and TNT network.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Huber, and son, Matthew Huber.

He was raised in Ocala, Florida and graduated from Florida Junior College (now the College of Central Florida) in Ocala, Florida. He was a sports writer for the Miami News in Miami, Florida; The Atlanta Journal in Atlanta, Georgia; and sports anchor for WXIA-TV (NBC Affiliate in Atlanta, Georgia) before beginning his 27 years with Turner Broadcasting when he joined CNN in 1984.
