Biography

Adam J. Segal is a film, television, and issues publicist based in the New York region. He founded The 2050 Group - Publicity, a full-service publicity and marketing agency, in 2006. The agency's work is often focused on film, television, as well as digital and social media projects that are at the intersection of entertainment and issues (whether they are political, social, cultural and whether they are domestic or international). Clients include leading studios, distributors, networks, production companies, directors, producers, and other companies, nonprofit funding organizations, and more. In 2023, 7 agency clients received Academy Award® nominations, 20 film were on the Oscar shortlists, 14 films received Emmy® Award nomination, clients received 5 Peabody Award nominations, and agency. Clients have received hundreds of industry awards nominations and wins including 34 Academy Award® nominations and 5 Oscar® wins. Segal's publicity campaigns are often built around films, TV and streaming premieres, and other content (including series, features, and shorts), theatrical releases, major film festivals, digital/VOD releases, and awards campaigns. He has been a speaker at numerous film industry events including the International Documentary Association's Doc-U series, Doc Nyc Pro conference, Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, Chicken & Egg Pictures. While working in the PR field, Segal served on the faculties of graduate-level communications programs at Johns Hopkins University and Georgetown University for nearly a decade. He is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and The George Washington University.
