Born near Clinton, Illinois on September 27, 1977, Lawson's first break into theatre came at the age of 8 when he was cast in the lead of "Oliver" in a local children's production. However, in the days before the show's premiere, a new kid (who could actually sing) moved to town and was immediately given the role after a secret audition was granted by concerned parents/producers. Lawson was demoted to the part of "The Artful Dodger". Despite the public shaming that ensued, he pulled off the portrayal to much acclaim. Unfortunately, it took years for the pain of the backroom screw-job to fade, but he returned to acting 26 years later in his much lauded performance as "Redneck Storyteller" for the feature film "Dead Bodies Everywhere". The movie premiered in Peoria, Illinois, in late Fall 2011 to rave reviews, including; "I wasn't expecting any award winning performances", "The camerawork and editing are pretty decent", "The soundtrack is pretty cool", and "There's some gore". Lawson now distills artisan spirits in Portland, Maine, where he resides with his wife Elizabeth, daughter Leia, and neurotic dog Barney.
