Charles L. Grant was born on September 12, 1942 in Newark, New Jersey, USA. Charles L. was a writer, known for Tales from the Darkside (1983). Charles L. was married to Kathryn Ptacek and Debbie Voss. Charles L. died on September 15, 2006 in Newton, New Jersey, USA.

Former president and trustee of the Horror Writers Association.

Entered the seminary at Trinity College in Connecticut, but later switched majors to English and History.

Served in the U.S Army military police in Vietnam (1968-1970), and was awarded a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts.

Graduated from Kearny High School in Kearny, New Jersey in 1960, and received a B.A. from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut in 1964.
