Biography

Jerell Rosales is an Asian/Filipino-American and LGBTQ+ narrative feature film and television writer/director.

Jerell’s feature-length television debut, "High School Lover", stars Paulina Singer, Lana Condor, François Arnaud and James Franco. The film was broadcast in the U.S. by Lifetime/A+E Networks, TF1 in France, and released on home video by Lionsgate. He’s a Humanitas Prize award-winning screenwriting fellow and a directing fellow in Film Independent’s signature diverse artist development program, Project Involve, where his film, THE TERRORIST, garnered a Jury Award Honorable Mention at the Austin Film Festival.

Jerell received a Master of Fine Arts from the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television and is based out of Salt Lake City where he serves as the Assistant Professor and Head of the Narrative Directing Track in Digital Cinema Production at Utah Valley University.

Jerell’s upcoming feature film projects are novel adaptations that explores the young adult, Asian American, and Queer experiences.
