Biography

Tamiyka is a dynamic and versatile actor. Born in Corpus Christi, she grew up in Houston. She was in after school drama programs in middle and high school. And she competed in several pageants in her early teens. Tamiyka attended to the University of Houston and while there, she co-founded a culturally specific non-profit arts organization, Renaissance Cultural and Performing Arts Center, that specialized in stories throughout the Black, African and Latino diaspora. She performed in several local theaters in Houston, San Francisco Bay Area, and Los Angeles. Earlier in her career, she worked in music video before landing a role as a featured extra for a movie directed by Kenny Ortega.

After graduation, she moved to the Bay Area and after an intense summer session at America Conservatory Theatre, she hit the pavement and worked throughout the Bay Area at several theaters. Then she moved to Los Angeles attending workshops and open casting calls. She booked her first commercial for StubHub and received her SAG card. She was recently seen on Rap Sh!t, Your Honor, Finding Happy with Kim Coles and Angela Gibb and Immortal City Records starring RonReaco Lee and D. Woods.

She recently worked with Justin Theroux in Mindy Khaling's new work space comedy, Running Point currently streaming on Netflix in 2025. She is a fan both of Miss Piggy and The Tiny Chef. She's a proud Houstonian who always will always be home of her soul and spirit while Los Angeles has her heart.
