Biography

Takuya Iba is a talented Japanese actor and scriptwriter, known for his versatile acting style and abundant expressions. Originally from Osaka, Japan, he has diverse career background ranging from model, comedian to theatre play performer. Being an international entertainer and a passionate traveler, he speaks Japanese, English, and Cantonese fluently. After reaching the top of his career as a model, his interest has gradually shifted to acting and writing which eventually brought him to Los Angeles where he is based in recent years. He is most known for his role as Long in Desolate (2018) and an outstanding double role as Ishimatsu twin brothers in Hell Follows (2017) which he received a Best Acting nomination from Cinalfama Lisbon International Film Awards.

Born on January 6, 1975 in Osaka, Japan, Takuya Iba started his global career as a model in 1995. Soon he made his presence quite often on major commercials, TV shows, high fashion magazines, and large billboards mainly in Asia. It didn't take long before his intense look and dynamic acting skills to the camera caught attention of film and television world. In the 2000s, Iba brought many impressive thug/villain characters to life including Goto Gemu in Homicide Team 9 (2006), Suspect in Ashita no Kita Yoshio (2008), to name a few.

Iba's acting career hit one big break with his casting in Desolate (2018) which established him as a seasoned actor in Hollywood, although his performances kept gaining high reputations with various styles showcasing from a quirky nerd Sam in Apt 603 (2018) to a vigorous thug Yakuza in Rerouted (2017) throughout the years. He is also renowned for his evocative vocal work. As of January 2019, Iba confirmed that he is developing a few film projects as a writer and a producer.

Growing up, Iba was involved in sports, Tate Japanese sword fight, martial arts, recreational gambling and theatre plays. Outside of acting, he demonstrates excellences in horseback riding and playing bass guitar.
