Biography

Dustin Curtis Murphy a multi-disciplined award-winning shorts, commercials, and narrative feature filmmaker creating work at the crossroads of social impact and commercial crowd-pleasers. He likes character driven narratives with relevant social themes, tightly structured plots, and blended genre. Loves a good twist.

Born and raised in LA, he's been living in the UK since 2017. After winning Best Student Short at the age of 18 at Shriekfest, Hollywood, Murphy has continued to make films that have screened at top tier international film festivals.

Murphy is also the festival director for the BIFA qualifying Kino London Short Film Festival.

Career highlights include:

Coyote - a dystopian feature length sci-fi starring Therica Wilson-Read (Netflix's The Witcher) and BIFA Winner Ruhtxjiaïh Bèllènéa (The Last Tree).

Samaritan- Winner: Best International Short at Sedona Film Festival, Winner: Grand Prize at The Weather Channel's #EarthFilmChallenge, Semi-Finalist at Academy Award Qualifying Rhode Island International Film Festival, plus Official Selections at other BAFTA/BIFA qualifiers. Nora - Premiered at BFI IMAX as the centrepiece of TEDxNHS and won 19 awards, including 2 for best director.
