Mini bio

  • Ryan Rundle is an American filmmaker, photographer and musician. He has directed commercial campaigns, music videos, documentaries and branded content for Sony Music, Panavision, Freeletics, Roland, Boss and more.

Raised in the Pacific Northwest, Rundle studied film and drama at the University of Montana, while working nights as a bouncer in bars and clubs. Upon graduating, he wrote, directed and edited "The Life and Times of an American Playboy." Financed with his savings and crewed by friends, the dark comedy garnered interest from 20th Century Fox in 2011 and propelled the young filmmaker head first into Hollywood's entertainment industry.

While adapting the short film into a feature-length script, Rundle continued working as a grip, electric, gaffer and more. In 2012, he moonlit as a print and runway model, researching the subject matter of his screenplay. His ironic success led to a niche directing and editing fashion videos for companies like Harper's Bazaar, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and many more. In 2017, he was hired by music industry giant, Roland, to revamp the brand's video and photo content, redefining the way the 50-year-old company communicated with musicians around the world.

In 2019, Rundle's acclaimed sports documentary, "Afterlife," garnered three Academy Award-qualifying festival selections and worldwide distribution. In 2020, he directed the iconic music video for the platinum-certified single, "Fire for You" by Cannons, lending his surrealist vision to the band’s nostalgic sound. Rundle would dedicate the following three years to crafting the band’s visual aesthetic, from music videos and visualizers, to album artwork and promotional photography.

In 2023, he directed Panavision’s "A Legacy In Every Lens" campaign, appearing at the Energa Camerimage Awards in 2024 and becoming the pre-roll video at Panavision sponsored film festivals around the world.
