Born and raised in Abu Dhabi, Humaid Alsuwaidi is a writer/director based in the UAE. 'Musk' (108 minutes. 2018), Humaid's second and most personal film, tells the story of a cynical divorced man as he tries to reconcile with his 12 year old aloof son. The film opened in 32 theaters across the Gulf in August 2019. It received a production grant from the prestigious Doha Film Institute (DFI) in 2016. 'Dalma', Humaid's latest film, tells the story of an opportunistic woman who disrupts the economy of a small traditional island and gradually becomes its pariah. 'Dalma' received a production grant from the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture in Beirut, Lebanon, and is slated to have its world premiere at the Red Sea International Film Festival, 2023, as part of the official competition.
