Began performing in 1979, initially with his mother Jannie Karst-Dubbelboer. Under the name Duo Karst, mother and son released dozens of albums. With no less than thirty CDs and hundreds of self-written songs, the pair became popular with Dutch emigrants in Canada and Australia, among others.
