Jess Bush is an Australian film and television actor known for her portrayal of Nurse Christine Chapel in the hit CBS series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. She was born and raised in Brisbane, Australia, her passion for, and career in the arts beginning at age 15. In 2017, she appeared in two episodes of the long-running Australian soap opera Home and Away, followed by parts in the Secret Daughter, Playing for Keeps, Halifax Retribution and Les Norton. Her series regular role in Strange New Worlds is her first part outside her native country and in Hollywood.

She had to move to Toronto in less than a month to take on her new role in the Star Trek Series.

She suffered from an eating disorder for five years while working as a model.

Has aspirations to direct in the future and spends much of her free time on set shadowing many of the current directors.

She is also an artist, sharing her abstract works and photographs on her Instagram account. She has become well known and respected for not only her amazingly complex art pieces and installations, but also for the clever videos of her creating them.

The blonde slammed the modeling industry, saying that it 'skews the self-worth' of impressionable young women and is 'very damaging'.

And I think that the makers of Star Trek have always been very mindful of that power. And, as an artist, I couldn't ask for anything more than that. To be part of something that makes an impact.
